This table is another tribute to the old cast iron machine bases made from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The pedestal base was built to support a large top. The bottom plates are 1 3/8″ thick solid steel which makes it stable for large tops. It’s the heaviest base we’ve made to date and weighs in around 400 lbs, and it has a great vintage patina. It would support a 10′ top well, or use two bases to support a 20′ top.
